The Museum Digital Experience: Considering the Visitor’s JourneyPaper

The visitor experience has been extended with additional channels, in the form of digital. Our thinking has evolved from building individual applications to selecting the right digital solution for the experience, which may comprise multiple channels. The most successful digital initiatives are those that make sense in the real-world journey you’re already taking, and are authentic to that experience.
This paper explores the seamless integrated physical/digital journey; before, during and after the museum visit. It offers a framework for looking at where visitors are, what they’re doing, and considers digital channels and solutions designed to fit that need throughout the entire experience.
