On April 18, 2015 the Imperial War Museum's WW1 Centenary Touring Exhibition will open at the Melbourne Museum. To go along with the touring exhibition a mobile application has been created by Art Processors, International Entertainment Consulting and the Imperial War Museum as an in-house only paid exhibition extension for visitors to the exhibition to enjoy while moving through the space. The application was designed to run on iPod touches and take advantage of indoor location to offer greater insight to the objects in the exhibition and allow for focus on each of the countries visited in the exhibition's tour (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, U.S.A. and Belgium).
The application contains a number of novel features such as parallax scrolling, chapter based viewing (matching to physical rooms) and the aforementioned country specific content that help assist the user experience and aim to simplify the access to content.
This will be the first time the application has been shown in public and one of the few chances to see the application outside of the physical space of the touring show as it travels the world over the coming years.
