Creating Web Video: From Planning, to Distribution, and Beyond

According to Shutterstock/comScore study, 190 million Americans watched an average of 254 non-advertisement online videos in January 2014. By now, if a museum is not producing video content for the Web, then they should at least be planning out how to move forward with a Web video strategy.

In this workshop, the presenters will discuss their experiences of both creating and distributing video content for the Web. Through hands-on demonstrations and exercises, participants will learn the basics of creating a Web video from start to finish, including aspects of planning, scouting, filming, scripting, and editing. Participants will learn about methods for distributing Web video, including basic publishing to video platforms such as YouTube, as well as ways to translate video content into non-video assets.

The workshop will be led by a team of presenters from ART21, the non-profit contemporary art organization most recognized for its PBS-broadcast documentary series, "Art in the Twenty-First Century," among other award-winning documentary series.
