A new website approach for a monographic museum: focus on storytelling (Booth 7)

On 27 August 2014 the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam launched its new website in which the top tasks of the visitors and storytelling are key: facilitating and inspiring. How do these two relate to each other? What does it mean for the organisation to focus on storytelling in its (online) communication? How are the stories created? How do the stories told in the museum translate into an online variant? Both on and off the website? What does this mean for the (internal) cooperation between different departments, the web team and how content management is organised? What does the public think about this way of presenting? What are the results and side effects? What lessons have we learned? And how do we plan to proceed?
