#CosmosChat was a weekly series of Twitter live chats to discuss Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey in the context of the history of science. Each session was an hour-long discussion about the most recent episode of the series; the final session was a Q&A with one of the show’s producers. Our team worked nimbly and rapidly to promote CosmosChat, watch and analyze the latest episode, develop discussion questions, facilitate the conversation, and archive tweets when the conversation was complete. The result was a low-overhead, high-impact social media event that was the most successful Twitter campaign in the CHF’s history, engaging scientists, historians, and the curious public in conversation with each other.
